The Man with The Light

At roughly 11:05 PM on Christmas Eve, in the year 2001, while at work my wife Sharon suffered a brain aneurysm. You can find Sharon’s account of her anguishing life changing trial in this post “How God Miraculously Brought Me through A Brain Aneurysm.” This post is my version of that same day, the same ordeal, the same life changing distress. The same miraculous deliverance.

How God Miraculously Brought Me through A Brain Aneurysm

This is a guest post by lovely wife, Sharon Horvath. She is my biggest fan and the mother of our four exceptional children. Most of all she is a lover of Jesus. This is her amazing testimony.

On December 24th, 2001, while working as a home health aide, my head exploded. This is my journey. This is how I survived the black hole I fell into on that fateful night. This is how the Lord, by His great power and out stretched arm, allowed me to survive the most cataclysmic of traumas. This is my story.

Which of Jesus Stripes Healed You?

People are often impressed with heroes and martyrs. – Remember Nathan Hale – who said “I only have one life to live for my country.’  We appreciate the liberty and freedom that we have because of the sacrifice of others. What about the sacrifice of Jesus? Do you appreciate His death on your behalf? Do you appreciate all that His death provided for you? We can rejoice and thank God because we were saved by His blood. But you can also rejoice that not only did Jesus save you from your sins but He also provided healing for you body at the same time.

Possibilities of the Anointing

Jesus Christ is a miracle worker. The Bible testifies to this fact in no uncertain terms (Jn. 20:30:31) but did you realize that Jesus did not produce miracles just because of His identity as the Son of God? Jesus was anointed by the Spirit of God (Matt. 3:16) and after His anointing, mighty works began to flow. Jesus then boldly declared that the works that He did, we can do also (Jn. 14:12). So, what are the possibilities of doing the greater works of Jesus? What are the possibilities of this anointing?

Miracles of the Unusual Variety

God is a miracle working God, that is a self-evident fact. Miracles, in and of themselves when manifested, produce wonder and amazement. Such is their nature. Many are familiar with some of the well known miracles in the Bible like splitting the Red Sea and Lazarus being raised from the dead. But, in the Bible there are other miracles that are not as well known but should be. These are miracles of the unusual variety. God did them through Jesus, through the disciples in the early church and by the hands of Paul (Acts 19:16). That pattern continues today. What you will find as you look at some of these manifestations is that God does extraordinary things through ordinary people. So, let’s look at a few of these unusual miracles.

Containers of Power

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” Discussing God’s power is not for the small minded. As you follow the trail of God’s glory and power in the Bible, you will find that there are ‘storage places’ where the anointing and glory can be stored. Let’s look at some of these containers.

Azusa Street Revival [Video]

History of the Azusa Revival
The revival started with a gentleman named Rev. Charles Parham who had Bible school in Topeka Kansas. He encouraged his students to study the Word of God on the subject of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. In a watch night service, Dec. 31, 1900 the students waited on the Lord in prayer. Understand that up until this time the vast majority of all believers since the church fathers died off were not filled with the Holy Ghost. A little past midnight, 1901, Agnes Ozman was the first to be baptized in the Spirit and speak with other tongues. Soon, all of the students were speaking with tongues.  In the mean time, Rev. Charles Parham moved his Bible School to Houston Texas and meets William J. Seymour, a very spiritual African American man who accepted what Parham taught but did not receive the experience. In the meantime, Seymour is invited to preach at a holiness church in Los Angeles. He doesn’t have the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues but he preaches on it anyway. When he did, the pastor of the church shut down the meeting and padlocked the door. The tiny congregation, despite the pastor, accepts the message of the Baptism of the Spirit. They begin to hold prayer meetings. Some nights later on April 6, 1906, Brother Seymour and 7 others, were seated in a living room at 216 Bonnie Brae Street. The group was engaged in a spirit of prayer and a time of waiting on the Lord when, all of a sudden, the power of God hit and knocked them all out of their chairs. The group hit the floor speaking with tongues. From there, the revival spread like wild fire. The glory of the move of God was so strong until services were held for 3 years in a row.  They met everyday, a service everyday, and sometimes they had as many as 9 services in a single day. This revival went all over the world because when people from other countries would land in LA they would hear about the revival and go to the meetings, the power of the Holy Ghost would fall on them and they would take it back to their own countries. Every Spirit filled believer of the modern era can trace their roots back to Azusa. I said all of that to get this point across to you, this powerful revival all started with a Bible study in Topeka Kansas! How important it is to maintain an active ongoing study of the Bible.

About 1,660,290 new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2013, and in 2013 about 580,350 Americans are projected to die of cancer, almost 1,600 people a day. Cancer remains the second most common cause of death in the US, accounting for nearly 1 of every 4 deaths. Is there no remedy? Yes, there is! Cancer cannot stand before the miraculous power of God. Here a man is healed of cancer of the spine.

Three Healing Questions from Jesus Life

God’s Love for You and Methods of Divine Healing

In the gospels, Jesus encountered and healed 19 individual cases of sickness and disease. It seems like there is more and in one sense there were (John 20:30-31). We don’t have the ‘all the books cannot hold’ cases of healing to examine that John refers to. What we have is nineteen individual cases spread out through the pages of the gospel. Since this is what God gave us, these nineteen cases should be studied to see what can we learn about the ministry of healing. Here are three questions generated from the healing ministry of Jesus.

Changing A Life Through Miracles

People were dramatically changed through the healing ministry of Jesus. Lepers, who could not experience social touch because of their disease, were cleansed (Mk. 1:40-42). Blind people, who had no hope of economic gain and were reduced to begging, were healed (Mk. 10:46-52). Life altering experiences took place with the greatest regularity as the Son of Man ministered day by day! Jesus is our example in this. The will of God has not changed. It is the same today as it was then. God wants to change lives through miracles.
