#S4-039: How to Use the Name of Jesus to Live A Miracle Life [Podcast]

You Can Use the Name of Jesus to Live A Miracle Life

Did you know that until the year 1100, most people in Europe had only one name? With the population increasing it became difficult to distinguish among people, so surnames (last names) were added. These names came primarily from four different sources: A man’s occupation such as John Cook or John Miller; location such as John Overhill or John Brook; a man’s relationship with his father like John’s son would be Johnson; and lastly personal characteristics like John Small, John Short, John Longfellow, or Peter Widehips. How did Jesus acquire His Name? In these week’s podcast, we are going to look at how Jesus acquired His Name as a man and how you, as a man, can use this divine weapon in your everyday life.

Why You’re Never Too Old to Make Decisions of Quality

Why You're Never Too Old to Make Decisions of Quality

I once heard an elderly minister who had served the Lord in His work for over 60 years make this statement. “It takes the same dedication at 70 years of age that it did when I was twenty.” There are decisions and there are DECISIONS. To differentiate them, the phrase ‘decisions of quality’ may help. What is a decision of quality? How are they different than the everyday snapshot variety? That’s what we are going to look at in today’s blog.

#S4-038: Why Rebuking Darkness Directly is Greater Faith in God [Podcast]

Rebuking Darkness Directly is Greater Faith in God

Some people think that there is no Satan. That he is just some red-suited Halloween costumed figure who only comes out in October. The Word of God teaches otherwise. Perhaps the following story will be instructive to them. Once there was a boxer who was being badly beaten. Battered and bruised, he leaned over the ropes and said to his trainer, “Throw in the towel! This guy is killing me!” The trainer said, “Oh, no, he’s not. He’s not even hitting you. He hasn’t laid a glove on you!”At that point, the boxer wiped the blood away from his eye and said, “Well, then, I wish you’d watch that referee. Somebody is sure hitting me!” 1 There is an enemy loose on planet earth who’s trying his best to lay his gloves on you. Rebuking darkness is the path to overcoming satanic hinderances and you can do it in Jesus Name.

Why Decisiveness Helps You to Live the Jesus Life

The Jesus Life Is a Life of Decisiveness

A farmer hired a man to work for him. He told him his first task would be to paint the barn and said it should take him about three days to complete. But the hired man was finished in one day. The farmer set him to cutting wood, telling him it would require about 4 days. The hired man finished in a day and a half, to the farmer’s amazement. The next task was to sort out a large pile of potatoes. He was to arrange them into three piles: seed potatoes, food for the hogs, and potatoes that were good enough to sell. The farmer said it was a small job and shouldn’t take long at all. At the end of the day, the farmer came back and found the hired man had barely started. “What’s the matter here,” the farmer asked. “I can work hard, but I can’t make decisions!”1 In today’s blog post, we are going to look into the issue of decision making and how decisiveness can help us in our everyday lives.

#S4-037: Why God Ordained Authority and High Places Matter [Podcast]

Understanding High Places Helps You Understand Authority

Believers are at different levels in their spirit walk with God. Spiritual growth is a lot like physical growth. We are all in the process of becoming and growing. On many Bible subjects, believers differ on how they should live and act according to those scriptures.  There are believers who don’t believe you need to rebuke the devil. They think all I need to do is pray unto God about what the devils is doing  and that takes care of it. Is this true? Is this what the scriptures teach? In today’s podcast, we are going to look at the concept of ‘high places’ and endeavor to show you from the Word of God that you can and should rebuke demons in Jesus Name.

Did You Know that A Good God Has A Good Plan For Your Life?

A Good God Has A Good Plan for Your Life

A good God has a good plan for your life. He works out portions of the plan getting them ready years in advance. But you have to choose to go God’s way. You have to be sold out to His way of thinking and choose to follow him. Author Max Lucado speaks honestly and to the point when he says, “If there are a thousand steps between us and God, He will take all but one. He will leave the final one for us. The choice is ours.”1 More importantly show God your willingness to obey Him. When He knows that you love Him and that you will demonstrate that love by trusting Him enough to listen to what He, then, in due time, that plan that plan will unfold in your everyday life.

Developing Confidence in the Goodness of God

How confident Are You in the Goodness of God?

A.W. Tozer states the following concerning the goodness of God. “The fellowship of God is delightful beyond all telling. He communes with His redeemed ones in an easy, uninhibited fellowship that is restful and healing to the soul. He is not sensitive nor selfish nor temperamental. What He is today we shall find Him tomorrow and the next day and the next year. He is not hard to please, though He may be hard to satisfy. He expects of us only what He has Himself first supplied. He is quick to mark every simple effort to please Him, and just as quick to overlook imperfections when He knows we meant to do His will. He loves us for ourselves and values our love more than galaxies of new created worlds.”1 God is a good God, that’s a Bible fact. How confident are you in this? Are you secure in knowing that all of His dealings with you are fair, true and good?

[Tweet “Confidence in God’s goodness comes from knowing He loves, accepts, and approves of you.”]

#S4-035: How Jesus Destroyed Demons One on One [Encore Podcast]

Jesus Destroyed Demons with the Power of His Words

A form of exorcism is a daily occurrence at a Miami hospital treating several hundred patients a month who ask to have evil spirits driven from their bodies. “Usually, we treat 600 to 700 a month,” says Dr. Hardat Sukhdeo, director of Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Crisis Intervention Center. “But last month we had 900 people come for help … we worked our tails off—maybe there was a strong pull from the moon or something.” The belief that demons can infiltrate a person’s body is old hat to the Jamaicans, Haitians, Bahamians, Cubans and Puerto Ricans who live in the Miami area, he said. The patients are given strong tranquilizers to calm them; then staff members try to soothe away their fears. 1. Tranquilizers and TLC are not how you deal with demons. It’s the Name of Jesus that get’s it done. What can we learn about the power of the Name by looking at how Jesus dealt with demons?

Why Honesty Is Indeed The Best Policy

You Can Understand God When You Realize He Cannot Lie

Many people quote the ninth commandment as ‘Thou shalt not lie’ but that that is not what how the commandment reads. Three important words are tacked to the end of this commandment, the words ‘against thy neighbor’.  And so the question invariably arises today as it did in Jesus day, ‘who is my neighbor’?  Honesty is indeed the best policy as we will see in today’s post.

#S4-034: Why You Can Absolutely Expect Powerful Healing Moves of God [Podcast]

You Can Expect Powerful Healing Moves of God

God is in the moving business. In the very first pages of Genesis where the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, you can see evidence that God is the God of the plan. He has one. He’s always had one. Not only does He have one but, He’s always working to bring His plan to fruition. Throughout the course of human history, God has been seen moving and stirring the hearts of His people. At times when His people have shut down and allowed themselves to be distracted from His first priority of establishing the Kingdom, in the midst of the distraction, God is still moving to work the plan. So don’t be afraid of the complacency you may see around you. It won’t stay that way for long. God is on the Throne and on the move. Do you think that everything that God has already executed in bringing Jesus into planet earth will fall flat because of few cold saints? The stirring, the reviving, the outpouring of God’s Presence, is on the horizon. Not only will God stir His people to a greater awareness of His purpose, but often times these moves are accompanied by spectacular signs, wonders, and dramatic miracles. Healing is a physical sign pointing to our Eternal on the move God. In today’s podcast, we are going to take a look at the healing connection to some of these revival type moves.

Why You Should Clue Into Jesus Last Words

How Jesus Last Words Helps Us Live Our Lives Today

Famous last words: when the U. S. federal income tax was signed into law on Oct. 3, 1913, a senator speaking in opposition stated, “If we allow this 1 percent foot in the door, at some future date it might rise to 5 percent!”1 Last words are revealing and highly informative. What about Jesus last words? What can we learn from them?
