In part one of this series Soaring with Eagles: How to Know You Are Destined for Greatness we mentioned there are clues about man in the creation of the eagle. We spoke about the ‘swiftness’ of the eagle and how Johnathan and Saul were designated eagles. But there are other ‘eagle’ clues about you. Let’s look at a second one.

Job 39:27-30 (KJV)
²⁷ Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high? ²⁸ She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place. ²⁹ From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off. ³⁰ Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

Eagles Live In High Places

• Did you ever hear the saying, “You can soar with the eagles or you can run with the turkeys?”
• A turkey is a low level bird.
• It’s a bird known for its stupidity.
• Which bird is on the table at Thanksgiving? That proves it. 🙂
• The turkey is so void of intellegience, they will look up in a rainstorm and drown.
• Turkey’s don’t do heights. Eagles do.
• You can choose to live life on any level you want to.
• You can live on a low level like the turkey or you can live on a high level like the eagle.

Matthew 10:37-39 (AMP)
37 He who loves [and takes more pleasure in] father or mother more than [in] me is not worthy of Me: and he who loves [and takes more pleasure in] son or daughter more than [in] Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take up his cross, and follow Me, [cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to my example in living and, if need be in dying also] is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his [lower] life will lose it [the higher life]: and whoever loses his [lower] life on my account will find it [the higher life].

• Eagle life is spirit life or high life
• Turkey life is flesh life or low life living.
• Do understand that the Bible states that they that are in the flesh cannot please God? Turkey life does not please God.
• Without faith it’s impossible to please God.
• Living in faith is living in the heights.
• It’s living the high life.
• The flesh does not have the capacity to live the high life.

Alonzo Mourning story about how he decided to buy an Aston Martin but because of the death of two of his friends who were driving at high speeds, he turned the car back in. An Aston Martin is meant for speed. The pedal begs you to push it.

• It’s like the difference between a Harley and a moped. Everything about a Harley cries out, “Let my throttle loose.”
• The Most High God, the Chief Manufacturer built you to soar.
• The Chief Mechanic crafted you to live in high places.
• High places are your environment.
• Stop living the low life.
• The devil has a counterfeit for everything that God has.

1 Kings 14:23-24 (KJV)
23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree. 24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

• The devils high places are not high enough.
• Some of you are just like that fine race horse that’s been hitched to an old garbage truck.
• You weren’t meant to pull garbage around.
• Garbage pulling is meant for mules.
• Stop pulling garbage around.
• Stop pulling un-forgiveness around. Lay that aside.
• Stop pulling sins of the flesh around. Lay that aside.
• Stop pulling unbelief around.
• Stop pulling past abuses around.
• Cut that garbage scowl loose and run like you were meant to run.
• Lay aside every weight and the sin, which does so easily beset you and run with patience the race set before you.  (Heb. 12:1)
• What God will do, if you make the choice to lay it aside?

Isaiah 58:14 (KJV)
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; And I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, And feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: For the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

• Riding on the high places is not your doing. God said I will cause it to happen.
• Living in high places isn’t based on your intelligence or lack of it.
• Holy Ghost eagle ability is not in your mind. It’s in your spirit!
• You don’t measure a man by his color, his intelligence, his sex, or his social status.
• You measure a man by the greatness of his heart.

2 Samuel 22:34-36 (KJV)
34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. 35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. 36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Resurrection Life is High Living

Ephesians 1:19–23 (KJV)
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

• Well that’s nice, Jesus is in high places. How does that help me?

Ephesians 2:4–6 (KJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

• Come up and take a seat.
• Check the view out from the heights.
• Devils and problems look smaller when you are looking down from on high.

Call to Action:

Living the high life is a choice. You can choose to rule and reign with Jesus from His position of authority. The invitation is open. Step up and take a seat.
